Get ready for an edge-of-the-seat GonzoFest presentation, “That’s My Dad!” by Sadie Williams, Ralph Steadman’s daughter, who has assisted him every step of the way. We are extremely honored to have her join us with a Keynote address, flying in from England for the event.

Ralph Steadman is well known for his collaborations and Gonzo partnership with Hunter S. Thompson. They created three books together, including Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and colluded on many other articles and projects. They remained friends until Hunter’s death in 2005, and Ralph often muses that their meeting in 1970 at the Kentucky Derby was one of the most fateful of his life.

Ralph’s wife, Anna Steadman, first visited Hunter at his home in Owl Farm, Woody Creek in 1973 with her husband. Over the years and during successive visits she would experience the highs, the lows, the chaos, and the calm that was inevitable when interacting with Hunter. As a dedicated diarist, she recorded much of it, and it is into this treasure trove that Sadie Williams will delve into to share some of these memories. Alongside her mother’s diaries and Hunter and Ralph’s writing, she will also share her own memories and diary entries from the age of 6 onwards.
