Dean Ferguson grew up on a horse ranch in the Idaho mountains and spent half his life in farming, ranching, forestry, teaching, and outdoor recreation. He’s an off-and-on journalist, and a photographer. He was Communication Director for Idaho’s last Democratic congressman. He volunteers for environmental causes. This year, he drives gear and guides for a whitewater company into Idaho’s River-of-No-Return wilderness and Hell’s Canyon and he writes and manages press for Idaho’s Democratic governor candidate.
