George Wallace, a native New Yorker, has lived and worked worldwide as a teacher, journalist, medical officer, and Peace Corps volunteer. He’s the author of 44 chapbooks of poetry, editor of Poetrybay.com, and writer in residence at the Walt Whitman Birthplace. George is widely known in the international poetry community and received top honors at festivals in the UK, Southern Europe, China, the Balkans, and Central and South America. Recipient of an honorary doctorate from the Royal Academy of Spain and a PEN Oakland Josephine Miles Literary Award, he has collaborated as a lyricist with international musical talents, producing albums of songs with Greek, Italian, British and American artists.
